Maroon 5 - Makes Me Wonder
Timberlake-esque with a hint of Jamiroquai, “Makes Me Wonder” seems like yet another Maroon 5 song you’ll sing along to on your commute to work. Prepping my lungs for M5 hit singles to come, it looks like these LA natives got the serenading-yourself-in-the-car sound down pat.
This first video off Maroon’s soon-to-be released album “It Won’t Be Soon Before Long,” Adam Levine doubles as either a super-sexy spy or debonair traveler on a mission. Distracted by the front man in the killer tux, I didn’t quite “get” the overall concept of this video. But the sheer novelty of shooting in an airport – not just any airport but LAX – still has me rather impressed.

Amy Winehouse - Back to Black
After hearing her hypnotizing album streaming from every other TDR computer, I still feel like I woke up this morning and all of a sudden, Amy Winehouse was “It." Slowly invading the music scene over the last couple of months, many music junkies may have known who Winhouse was or heard a song or two -- but, they didn’t know the who, what, where and why about her. Now, mere hours after today’s write up in Pitchfork, the word about Winehouse is out.
Being compared to the fellow Brit pop artist, Lily Allen, Winehouse is said to be live up to Allen's brash and unpredictable nature. Already a huge commercial success in the UK, Winehouse’s second album Back to Black sounds like it could have been pulled from the soundtrack of Ray or Dreamgirls. Yet, there is also something inherently bold and different about it: the content is brash and uncompromising. Each word has meaning, but the context of her powerful pipes makes each song deeper than the words themselves.
I highly recommend you check out the album -- and while it's downloading, enjoy the video for Winehouse's soon-to-be-released title track "Back to Black."

Mute Math - Typical
This music video by up-and-coming New Orleans band Mute Math is a visual fusion of pop-rock lyrics, strong rock beats, and electrifying synth. With a solid sound and a playpen feel, this video combines all of the things that the grown-up kid in me likes: rolling around in paint, keyboard guitars, and post-its.
If you're not already one of their 100,000+ Myspace friends or a devout concert fan, just know that Mute Math is the band to follow. Plugging into the niche market of experimental rock with bold, repetitive hooks, Muth Math developed their sound and then hit the Internet -- a decision which resulted in online popularity, sold out shows, and a contract with Warner Brothers Records.

Feist Covers "See-Line Woman"
This video, produced by Stereogum, showcases Leslie Feist's cover of Nina Simone's "See-Line Woman" (or "Sea-Lion Woman," depending on which
interpretation you embrace) with a collection of clips from live performances.
If you're going to cover Nina Simone, then you'd better be damn sure to do it right. Fortunately, Leslie Feist's vocals are more than up to the challenge, bringing her own spin to the classic jazz track while still capturing the breezy rhythms of the original.
While some of the visuals used in this video are a bit jarring with the smooth beats of the song, it's still a treat for eyes and ears both. A fantastic reminder for us to check out previous Feist albums before the April release of The Reminder.
